there is a part of the forum with all the tech specks i used a .054? gap on my plugs the gap is prinited on a decal in the engine compartment.

You are correct, sir! The proper gap for the plugs is 0.054. Make sure you use autolite or motorcraft platinum plugs, I've heard that a lot of people have "issues" with the bosch plugs! As far as fluids are concerned, I personally prefer Castrol oil, (syntec if you like synthetic, and regular Castrol 5W30 if you like conventional) I also like the Lucas products for the oil and tranny. Make sure that you use good filters, have fun, and take your time!

Take off passenger front tire, for rear plug on that side. A 'U' joint on the end of the socket with a 9" extension will be a great help. Put plugs in using a 6" piece of gas hose... it gives you the reach you need and it helps you feel that it is not cross threading. Stick the hose on the end of the Plug.

I use regular Copper plug Autolites 765's. No need to use Plats if you change them out every 30K miles. Ignition Wires seem to last about 90K miles.
Do a search for 'F150 lift' something will pop up. It's been talked about on this forum.

Thanks for the responses and help. What wieght oil? and what fluid does this manual transmission use? also what oil for rear end?

And I'v elooked in regards to the f150 seats but all I can find is that they discontinued one part number. Does anyone know of a possible item thats similiar. A

And in regards to the freeze plugs for the transmission anyone on here have a picture of the acces door under the shift boot?

Thanks

I always use 5W30 Castrol. It keeps the lifter ticking sound away that happens when I use 10W30. Don't remember what to put in the manual tranny or the diff. Maybe someone else will chime in with that info. Good luck with it!

Rear axle. regular 80-90 castrol ( $7 a quart)

Trani ... Manual or Automatic? I have used the all purpose stuff for the Automatic.
Not sure if the Manual Gearboxes take Auto Fluid like some of my cars Or if they use the 80-90 also.

I use 10-40 Castrol GTX. It gets cold here but not WAY BELOW ZERO so I stay with the 10-40 all year. I have 330K miles on the 'X'.
If you look at my Profile ( below) I have a lot of high mileage cars and I use the same Castrol in all of them (including my motorcyles). 3000 mile oil changes works for me.
