from what i ve seen..

many are against sony brands for car audio.. i wonder why? because they sound bad or what?

since i use the woofers from sony.. i was looking for a good bass... it sounds nice w the thumps from those sony woofers...

i have no idea about sony's speakers... i was planning to get some speakers some days ago but i decided to wait.. i should get speakers from other brands or what?

Well alot of people dont like Sony like you said. I have always liked sony for my home electronics so I went and bought sony amy and speakers for my car audio. When I bought my set up I have a 1999 Mercury Cougar hatch, and with it being a hatch the bass was really good. Since then I have traded in my Cougar and bought a 2003 Explorer and put that same set up in. The bass is still pretty decient but not as loud as I would like it to be. I listen to very bassy music rearly but when I want it loud, I WANT IT LOUD, so I went and upgrated to a Kicker Solo-Baric set up. So what I am saying is if you want some decient bass just to inhance the sound for a lower price, so with sony. On the otherhand if you want some intence bass for a few extra bucks get something a little more powerful like Kicker or JBL.

ive gto a sony deck, the display is going out, but it has still been a decent deck... time for an upgrade, might even stick with sony

yeah the bass i have is pretty good.. they give 450 watts RMS each.. they re 15 inch subs by the way..

but i am just curious why many people go against sony.. or it is just that they dont hook it up properly n etc? damn i hate it when peeps are being **** when they see that i have xplods in my X..

Sony used to have some really good stuff. but there xplode series sucks. too much hype but doesn't produce. I guess the stuff is ok for entry level stuff. For high sound quality there is much better for the money.

didn't really care for Sony car audio amps.

indeed they make good home audio systems and the car head units are pretty decent, i had an old Xplod that i had in 4 different vehicles and it was still kicking.....but it was starting to not give me back my CDs so i finally upgraded to a Pioneer head unit which i think is far superior.

buddy of mine has 2 12" Xplods and he's tried to blow them up and hasn't been able to yet.

basically, their is nothing wrong with their products when compared to other low end stuff. Alot of people say really bad things about sony since they completely lack anything approaching mid-level let alone high-end. the general consensus (however jaded it may be by the lack of good stuff) is that all their stuff represents a bad VALUE. this really isn't true.

if you want a $100 amp and $50 woofers sony is a good option- i guess? i'm exaggerating a bit, but i did try to stick up for sony a little bit so i'll go with that comment as is

i've bought one car audio sony product... a head unit... nearly $500, had all the features and yada yada that i wanted for my system. and c'mon for $500 how can it be bad?! BIG MISTAKE barely and i mean barely lasted over a year. i mean like maybe 368 days and it crapped out on me. remote quit working, controls quit working, no sound, and it kept my cd. so b/c of that i reccomend people stay away from sony. unless yer going to buy the really cheap stuff which wouldn't be soo bad cuz u don't pay soo much. anyways that made me :fire: enough to never buy sony again. i mean i suppose that could happen with any brand but it was too much money for me to risk losing again. and the fact that i bought the high end stuff to avoid getting a shotty product and i still got screwed did it for me.

i see about your head unit.. that must really suck.. losing 500 bucks.. well i guess sometimes we are better off buying higher ends audio stuffs.. i sure do agree to this point but since i am only 16 and very low on budget obviously ha and xplod is hooking me good sofar ha.. hopefully they will last as long as i need them to until i have money to buy higher ends... but it wont be for a while since i am going to get my x tinted, a set of rims, some lighting kits, and some assecories for interior... all those, i am going to need 1,500 at least.. i m hoping i can get my "wish" done by this summer..

all u have to do is manage yer money and u can do it look at me i have no money but i know how to manage what little i do have/make. just got to be cheap about alot of stuff u do. obviously takes alot of time to save up but it can be done...

yeah hiridin, it takes a lot of time for me to get all those money to finally start buying things... all i can say is get a job ha..

since i m in school and on varsity basketball team, jeez no time for me to get a job.. but after the basketball season ends, i m going to find some part times after school in the spring and turn into full times when the summer vacation begins.. (first of all i m hoping i can get a "not bad" job which doesnt pay me so low u know for the start.. *crosses fingers*) then my wish should come true during that time
