Alright, Im about to get my major bass setup. Im gettin rid of the 10s soon for 4 15s, so I know some rattleproofing is in line. I was searching ebay, and I found some by Elemental Design. They offer a mat and a "paint" I guess youd call it. I Was wonderinf if anyone else has used theres. The testimonies on there sites sound good (thasts a surprise huh?). But anyways, does anyone know if its any good? And how much should I plan to order. Im going to do all 5 doors to start (4 doors and the rear hatch). I was thinking of ordering 120 Square feet. The site says plan on 10-15 feet a door, so I figure maybe about 25-30 for the rear door (Its like they think cars are the only ones with loud bass), plus 60 for all the others with some to spare. Will this be enough? Also, one of there testimonies talks about laying down the mat, then going over it with there paint. Would this do any extra to reduce vibrations?

Also, just wondering, should I probably let the stereo shop do the dash. I know Im going to need it done, but since Im going to have to find a tutorial to be able to remove the door panels to apply this stuff, I figure it would be best not to rip out my dash with no experience. Is it easier than it seems, or would letting them do it be better?

For sound deadening, go with www.secondskinaudio.com and don't look back.

I haven't messed with the dash or door panel on an explorer yet, but I have on many other cars. It is usually a straight forward process. If it looks like there are tons of screws, get plastic baggies and put labels as to where the screws came from. Shouldn't be too hard for ya to handle.

I personally would not go with an Elemental Design's product. They have had some shady business practices in the past as well as in the present. Lots of drama I'd rather not get into, just letting you know that I personally steer clear.

If you want some of their v1eDead I beleive it is, go to wal mart and get some Peel&Seal from the gutter section. 8mil thick gutter lining, that does the exact same job as base line audio deadener. v1eDead is actually rebadged peel&seal with a higher price tag.

I concur, peel&seal, ice & water, all the same

How many square feet would be necessary for each door? Also, the peel & seal stuff, is that liquid or a "mat"?

It comes in a rather large roll. Not sure how many square feet for the door.
