sound system

i need help with my sound system.
I'm gona start off with Sony XS-V1331 5-1/4" 3-way Speakers.
Then for the subs i dont know what to do. My choice is either the JBL Grand Touring GT1081 10" 8-ohm Component Subwoofer or Sony XS-L1035 10" 4-ohm Component Subwoofer. I plan on getting 10s but maybe 12s might be a little better. Im having a hard time choosing which one is better. I think that if i did my car in all sony xplod it would be pretty cool because i already have a sony xplod head unit. but...the jbls are looking pretty good. And i need advice on what kind of amp to get. Im not really good with car audio. Help would be much appreciated

I have 2 10" inch jbls GT's and they hit pretty hard for a 10 incher, they are better then some 12 inch. They are powered by Mono 300.1 JBL amp. I also have a sony HU and Its not really a big deal. If you have a choice get 12'' inch GT's, they are only like 10 dollars more. Sony makes pretty good HU, not hard to mess up, but as far as Speaker and AMp Quality, not for me. Just to let you know i am installing 2 15" inch Pioneer DVC subs and a 800.2 Rockford Fosgate Amp. Got it new and dirt cheap only 600 for everthing, I wanted them for an extra thump in the trunk, and it comes with a bass level adjuster. Good luck with you decisions. But shop around on the internet, and have a local shop install it or do it your self. Much cheaper in the long run.

Thanks for the advice. I decided on 2 12'' bazookas. =)..ne body have suggestions on an amp that would work cool? by they way. the subs can handle 500 watts on liquid chill but are 300 watts without that liquid chill crap

does any one know somewhere where i can buy cheap bandpass boxes

dont get a bandpass box!
they sound lke crap and have a narrow frequency range. you wont get the low end deep bass or subsonic bass. go fr a nice vented/ported box. you'll get plenty of output in all of the sub's frequncy range, and some great SPL.
