I have a 2005 explorer, I just got back from a 2,000 mile trip to florida and on the way out there it worked fine, on the way home we noticed that even on the highest setting there is not much volume coming out of the vents. The air is ice cold and will freeze you out, its just not coming out of the vents very hard. The blower sounds fine(sounds like a tornado). I don't know if it is related but we also noticed on the way home that we get some water? dripping out from under the dash just over the pedals and also underneath the glove box area, that had never happend before either? While on the trip, I replaced my air filter, Did i knock something loose like a vacuum hose? If anyone can help, thanks in advance!!
Thank you very much!!!!

You have water dripping down on the driver's and passenger's side? That's not good.

Yes, first it was just the passenger side, it has seemed to switch to the drivers side, it drips 1 drop about every 15 minutes or so, what does that mean?

oh yeah, the drops are ice cold, and no coolant smell, no vehicle overheating or anything that would lead me to think it would be heater core related. You say not good, what kind of not good are we talking:(?

That moisture dripping down is very likely condensation, due to the air being restricted in the vents. I'm guessing a vacuum leak redirecting the cold air to the defrost vents.

I have a similar problem with my 2005 Ford Explorer XLT. The Blower sounds like it's blowing full blast but hardly any air volume is coming out. When you guys talk about a potential vaccumm leak, where would this be? How would I find it?

Have u checked to see if the rubber tube from the air conditioning is plugged, it is located under the passenger side of the vehicle under the plastic inner fender, u will see a rubber hose comming out, u might have to put it on the hoist to see it. This hose is suppose to drain the water from the air conditioning out on the ground, thats why u see puddles on the ground in the summer under vehicles. If it get plugged, the water goes into the vehicle. Let me know if this helps?...Bill (CHANGELANES@hotmail).

Howdy y'all, first post here :)

My wife's '02 4.6L Explorer (w/ dual range climate control) has very similar symptoms to pwaltrip's; blower motor is spinning full-tilt but is venting very little volume. Temp control is accurate, delivery (volume) is not. HELP!

Did you ever get to the bottom of your A/C issue?
