Gonna do a major tune up on my '95 4.0 this weekend. The book calls for Motorcraft double platinum plugs (AWSF42PP). These are kind of pricey ... $4.50 each. Does anyone have any experience with using a different plug? Any/all comments appreciated. I'm not tyring to be cheap, just want to be better informed. Thanks!

I'm running NGK V-Power plugs on my 95 4.0. Was like $2 a plug. No problems but I would still reccoment the motocraft plugs on all ford engines.

autolite, motorcraft or bouch platinum are good plugs Just remember you get what you pay for.go motorcraft,it may be $4.50 a plug but it will be better in the long run.good rule of thumb,if you change the plugs change the wires but at the same time don't go with the cheaper wires or you'll defeat the purpose of the better plugs.xact or autolite wires are'nt exspensive and pretty good.good luck.....

I just bought.....

.....Bosch Platinum plugs at wal-mart for around $5.00 for a pack of two. Bought Bosch wires at Atuo Zone. Installed easy, but the big difference is how much smoother it runs. If you get Bosch plugs, get Bosch wires.
