I'm gonna change spark plugs soon. Been doing some research.
Most here say to torque to 13-15 foot pounds, but FordTechMakuloco, in a 2015 video, recommends 20-25 foot pounds.
He says this is to prevent blowouts, as the Ford spec torque is so low, the plugs (sometimes) loosen over time and shoot out.
That's almost double the spec minimum torque, but he's a smart guy and knows his business.
I'll probably torque to 20 foot pounds. When I changed plugs on my 2000 Grand Marquis, I torqued them to 17 foot pounds and all was well.
Just wanted to let you know what I've found...hard to believe the torque numbers being all over the place.
