Welcome to the forum!

Just stick a flat screwdriver between the grill and the panel and pull

will the panel go back in? or will this damage my panel? i dont want to break anything here i just want to swap muh speakers lol.

I would just remove the entire door panel. It's not that hard, as someone suggested use a flat head screwdriver, or they sell a tool made to do this. Just be careful to apply steady pressure.

Stick teh tool between teh door and the door panel, and you can feel "plugs" thatgo from the door panel to the door. There are probably 10-20 most likely, not sure exactly. Just keep an eye out for any screw that hold the handle to the door for strength, it's not rocket science, but just be careful. When you're done, and if you've taken off the panel correctly, it'll go back on and feel just as strong as before.

if you looked i was talking about the rear speakers in a 2! door. im doing the ones next to my back seats. the first poster was right. i was able to just pop the grilles off. but i have another issue now. the mounting depth on the site i ordered these from was false its actually like a 3 an a half inch mountin speaker. and my doors were also falsely represented on this site. they said i have about 2 an a half when in all reality i have maybe2 inches even. and thats with the plastic collar that acts as a spacer. thank you for the tip with the rear speakers tho.

Hmm didn't know about the mounting dept, about 2 weeks ago I was going to swap the speakers on my 97 sport with the ones I took off from my 02, but the connector is different so I only went as far as taking one of the rear speakers off...
Can you make an adapter to allow for the difference and use the grill provided with the speaker vs the stock one?
I'm not looking at my truck now, so not sure if I'm making sense hehe

Idk im sending one set of speakers back to the site cuz they wont fit in my doors. im keeping the one thouh. they fit in the back of mine. you could make your own spacer to fit your speakers in but be careful it will fit behind the panels and not hit against them. could cause issues in the future. and you can buy adapters to adapt a certain harness to female spade connecters for use on aftermarket but idk if you can adapt year to year of the same model. im hardwiring mine in. i have rockford fosgate Punch 6X8s.:salute:

Yup I have that harness for my 02, I didn't use it, I ran new wiring for everything, but it won't work with the 97 and I don't want to spend any money on the 97 hehe so I'll wait to see what can I find that doesn't require me spending $$

This is the install sheet forthe MTX Thunderform enclosures for the Expy. It has instructions to remove and replace the complete rear inner panel.

Hope this helps

thats for a diff model, thanks for the effort though. I figured it out. you can just pop out the metal grilles on the panels to acces the speakers. a lot easier than removing entire panels.idk who gave me the tip on that one but thank you.
