I currently have a completely stock system, and I want to upgrade the speakers. I want speakers that offer good overall performance.

I am currently looking at the Polk Db571 which I can get for $60/pair

Does anyone have any other recommendations?

I haven't been able to start playing with better speakers/amps in my trucks yet, just Receivers, but Component speaker sets will offer the best sound/value for the money. Although I don't think a good component set will be in the $60 range unless you find a deal or used set. You do know those polks are 5x7 right? Our stock speakers are 6x8, not a huge difference, but if youre already upgrading for better sound/range, I would try to take advantage of that extra space.

I just replaced my rears with Pioneer TS-G6845R. Direct fit and sounds ok.

I went ahead and ordered the Polks. I got a good deal on two refurbished pair.

I just put Alpine SPS-517 in all 4 doors ($99 pair) and they came with the factory connector. It took all of 5 minutes per door to install and they sound great.
