96 Ford Ex XLT
:fire: Ok, I have a 96 Ex XLT ! Factory radio AM/FM Cassette just replaced with Factory AM/FM CD. I thought because everytime I hit a bump or someone closed a door either one or more of my speakers with come on or go off was a radio issue so I replaced it with the Fac. CD player. But now it still does it and im going bananas. I even tried following the wires as far as I could but didnt see anything that would cause this problem. Does anyone have a inkling as to what might be driving me to the nut house with this problem?? ANY SOLUTIONS WOULD BE A GREAT HELP ! ! ! ! ;)

Do you have the factory speakers as well or aftermarket? I am guessing you should check each speaker and their wiring and make sure they aren't shorting out anywhere and if not; then I am not sure. Good luck.

Thanks for ur help. As far as know, they are factory speakers. I checked both front doors(driver & pass) and they were factory so I presume they all are !

I had a similar problem in a '96 XLT I had. Check the connections to the external amp. It's in the right rear panel in the cargo area. I loosened mine enough to pul it pack and look at the amp. All I could do was manage to wiggle the connections on it but apparently that was all it needed. It worked good after that. It was driving me nuts too. I replaced some speakers and checked wiring on the HU before I figured out what it was.

check the factory clips to the speakers in the doors.. my 94 did the same thing, the clip harnesses sucked... i replaced the fornt speakers with aftermarket and had them soldered onto the factory wires, the sometimes on sometimes off and static went away and i had great sound

get an aftermarket cd player and run NEW cables to all the speakers.....

Well guys, I checked the amp in the pass side rear panel. I didnt see anything wrong so I just unplugged the wire clip and plugged it back in. So far seems like it did the trick, but only time will tell. Thanks for all ur suggestions !

I have done all of the above and just as soon as i think i've got this thing by the short & curlies, my drivers door speaker flips spazzes out again. All new speakers checked anddouble checked wires, clips, and plugs. As soon as W. sends what he owe's me I will replace my HU, and I will update ya'll
