Recieved my grille today. Need some of my friends tools to do this job better. I took out the old grille, and started "cutting" leave it at that for now....

I am one who like visual instructions **you know PICTURES! None with the street scene speed grille. Though it seems strait forward i think. I will let you know how I made out.

I am getting my clear corners in monday. They are easy to replace.

Btw, does droping the x void the ford warranty?

Also, i have been trying to read alot about getting new tires for my x and kinda lost. Theres just too much to read.
I want 18" rims and tires. Usually I am just use to replacing stock tires when they go bad.

But for my new x, I want them to be a bit more "sporty". I figure this may belong in the tire section but I hope that you guys with sports may have any suggestions. (Right now i have 16" tires)

edit part: Would a local place install mount and balance them. Or do I need to buy online?

Thanks,

Paul

Dropping your X wont totally void your warranty. But if a ball joint, or anything suspension goes bad, you'll be paying for it. They may even try to argue if something happens to the rear, drive shaft or tranny. (That just depends on the dealer though. Best bet is to ask the service manager.

Any shop should be able to put the tires on the rims and balance them. I dont know what you need but you have to make sure the back spacing is right and the lug pattern. If you call a tire place, they should be able to tell you if it will fit or not.

It does look better lowered. If I were to lower the back can I buy any blocks online or do they need to be a certain type and do I even need blocks? I also read that you dont want to go past 2" with 4x4 drive, which I have. So, 1-1 1/2" in back 2" front sound good?

That is if i can figure out how to do all of this.... And I dont even know where to start for the " TT". Which does the front right? I am going to read more about this.

For tires and rims i am looking for 18x8.5" with 255/50r18's toyo s/t tires. From toyos site they have a chart, it seems like this would work. What i am confused on the rims is the bolt pattern? is mine 5x4.5? and what other numbers do i need?

My current rims and tires are from the prem sport package, 16" 255/70R

Btw BM, I saw your 20" rims very nice. And good luck with them.

Thanks guys!

Paul
