I have a 96 Explorer 4.0L 4x4 with a manual trannie..for the last couple of weeks my speedometer has been bouncing around like a fool between 25mph and 65mph. so. i figured the first logical excuse would be to check the speedometer cable. however i found that 1995 was the last year they used those and they stuck a speed sensor in the transfer case. so i went to the store bought one and realized that there was what was left a maroon colored gear on the end of it. however the new one did not. now what i wanted to know is if the maroon colored one is what is hould replace it with cause after googling some sites with the question they say they are color coded or if there is another one i should use because the dealer doesn't normally stock the maroon( or wine) as they call it. C0DZ-A was the part number i need a new one is there a way of knowing which one of the many colors i should buy?
