I wanted to know where the speed sensor is in my car (the sensor that sends speed to the spedometer) I want to know general area to look since the chilton's guide is not available for my model (2002 xlt) I have not gotten under the car yet since the temp here is not conducive to long periods of time under the car. so a general idea of where it is would be helpfull so i dont freeze to death ;)

Most late model Ford speed sensors are located at the top of the rear differential. They operate off the tone ring next to the ring gear.

ok i found another post that told me where it is, (driver's side top of rear differential) but here is the next question.....I can get my hand on the connector and bolt but i cant seem to figure out how to disconnect the cable. i am a newbie and i appologize for the retarded question but i have never had a problem repairing my chevy trucks. so my question is where is the clip i have to release to unhook the cable to pull the sensor to release it
