so i want to get 3" of lift on my 01 sport

i was planning on a 3"BL with TT and Shackles

but then i saw that 3"spindles and 4wd leafs would be easier and cheaper

is this right?

and what all do i need to know about the spindles like- how they affect the ball joints and, if ill need new rotors

and will i need to put new gears? or is that only when i put on new wheels and tires (i wanna do 33's-35's if they'll fit with a 15X8 wheel)

i just got the spindle idea
and i really want input on which one, the spindles or tt affects the wear of the front end

sorry for all the questions but i plan on doing this within the next few weeks

Unless you are getting the 3" Spindles for FREE, I don't see how the spindle/leaf lift is cheaper than the BL/TT/shackle lift.

The BL alone will give you the EXACT same clearance for the tires as the Spindle/leaf lift. And there is no alignment req'd afterwards.

After the BL, you want to do a TT, which is FREE....and a shackle lift <$100..for even greater clearance...THEN take it in to get an alignment.

BL/TT/Shackle lift should run you about $300-$350 including the alignment.

thanks for the help

does a TT of about 1.5-2"inches on a 2wd wear out anything quickly

It's been done 100's of time before, and never been an issue for them...AS LONG AS YOU GET THE ALIGNMENT QUICKLY

alright maybe you can answer another question of mine

im pretty much set on a PA body lift but i dont know which one i need, like the part number or rather which one will fit my 01 sport

There is no such thing as 4WD leafs. You may be confusing four door and two door leafs.

The thing everyone worries about when doing a TT is halfshafts. You don't have halfshafts on a 2WD. BJ's will wear quicker though. Its not an issue for me as my entire front end excepting the diff has an aftermarket lifetime warranty. Worth considering though if you have original BJ's and are just lifting a street queen.

nah it deff said 4wd leaf kit, but ive already decided against it

Again, there is no such thing as a "4wd leaf." I think if you posted the price you can get the spindles at, we could give more feedback. It would be nice to have all suspension lift on the cheap but nobody has a clue what you are paying for it.

regardless of what it said (which was 4wd and not 4 door) i know its odd thats what it was advertised as, i really dont care anymore

im going to go with a PA body lift

i just need the part number for he kit that works with my 01 sport
ive seen 883 and 27723-or something similar

any help?

I have the Fab-Tech 3.5" lift spindles installed on my X, there is pics in my profile. The notes on the install I would say to start is that the spindles are for the ranger edge and if you do not have the tow package on the car then you will have the 10.25" rotors, you must have 11.25" rotors. when I did the install I got the solid upper arms from a ranger edge (again if you don't have the tow package then the X's upper BJ's are smaller than the edge's). Camber kit. at this point I would put new wheel bearings in. to install the kit you have to cut the bottom 1/4" of the lower a arms were the break in the metal is all the way around the outside by the BJ and the first time driving hard off road I cracked both lower a-arms and had to weld on 1/4" plate so I would say this is for looks more then off road I am still happy with the lift and am in the planing on a SAS to make it 4wd, I am running 33/12.5 BFG's on 15/8 with an offset of 3.5" back spacing (also something to think about the stock rims did not fit the back of the rim would make contact with the tie-rod and had to spacers in until I got the wright rims, most tire shops will not mount new tires on wheels that use spacers they made me buy rims that had the wright backspacing.)

OK any way I have a 2wd sport and have already lifted my X and gone through more upgrades after not being happy with it so any ? you have feel free the PM me and I can help out.... after the 9th of Dec. I have a state level inspection test to get ready for hope this helps :salute:

check out the pics on the profile though there is the shackles and leafs and the spindles all on there with the 33's
