something about keeping the rear sway bar from moving around, i believe required on lowered explorers. that's as much as i know. i shold have a better idea tomorrow after i install them.
split collets are mounted on the rear sway bar right beside the bushings. purpose is that it keeps the rear sway bar from shifting around and possbily getting caught up in the leaf spring.
