Sport trac 2001 motor changed

Hi,
My motor from the 2001 was damaged now the mechanic was founding one from 2008 because all another motors from 2001 at 2005 was ****i. Now when he want to connect the motor to the pcm he was seeing that are the pins are not identical with original Modul from 2001,but Ford was saying from 2001 at 2008 is the same module from the connector. Have somebody an idear why there is a difference in the pins?

Second question, a dashboard from 2008 goes inside in the model of 2001 or is that a different Form an size?

The 4.0L SOHC long-blocks are all the same ('97-'10). When you put a newer SOHC engine in your older vehicle, you have to reuse all the peripheral parts from your old engine to get around incompatibility issues.
