Hi all I am a newbe. This looks like a good place to get some help. I have an 05 Sport Track with the premium audio package. I have blown the amp. Can anyone know the wattage on the amp.

Does anyone know of a place to buy one on line or should I just replace it with a non factory amp? Any sugestions? Thanks for the help..

it will probably save money on the amp itself to buy aftermarket, wiring can get goofy though.....

wireing an aftermarket amp is no problem...the hardest part is running the feed from the deck, but since all of that is in place, it shouldn't be a problem

you may however have to runn a thicker guage power cable and ground...I can't imagine the factory amp being more that 50 - 100 watts... smaller than a small aftermarket

Thanks for the help guys. I remember reading that the premium sound system had 540w stereo system in it. Would the amp be 50-100 watts if that was the case. As you can tell I know very little about car stereo systems.

Thanks..

well, I would imaging that the factory head unit has between 30 - 50 watts per chanel for the front end...and the rest for the subwoofer...so I would guess that the amp you have/had...could be as much as 300 watts....personally I prefer after market over and factory system...I'm running and alpine PDX 1.1000 which puts out 1250watts RMS...or 2500 max(NEVER GO BY THIS FIGURE) WAY TOO MUCH POWER...my ears are still ringing from last week...if you need any help, PM me...I've installed many systems, in many vehicles...

Wow your ears must bleed at times.. That is alot. There is a local Car Stero place. I think I am going to take it to them. I think this is way over my head. I am sure it is just the amp. Just want one with about the same power. It was plenty loud. The sub is just not working anymore..

Good luck with that...but if they end up talking you into an upgrade...son't give them your real address...employees at sterio shops are notorious for giving out your address to their car thief friends....I don't mean to freak you out, just don't tell them where to find your car...

Any tips on entirely removing the rear storage compartment area to fit a sub box and amps? I bought a box from soundoffaudio.com that holds (2) 10" subs and want to install that with Polk C400.4 and C500.1 amps behind the rear seats. Help?

what subs...how deep is the box...front to back?
what year is your trac again?
in my 03, I've currently got my amp mounted beihind the rear driverside seat
and have removed the 60 side of the back...going to be cutting and re welding that side to match the 40, and have almost finished my fiberglass console/sub box.

will post pics soon...
