Hello All,

The Adrenaline would definitely suit my needs, being a truck nut and hauling bikes and boats.
But living in the Netherlands driving this car on gasoline is impossible without W.Buffet accounts.
So a propane conversion is needed. I've never seen this car live and before ordering one to ship it over I need to know if there's any room for tanks.
Of coarse it could be placed in the bed, but it is so small already.
What I did with former trucks is: take away the petrol tank and replace and re route the exhaust. This creates space to two propane tanks next to the drive shaft. Spare tire sinks in the bed and in it's place a stainless spare patrol tank of some 15 gallons to keep it dual fuel.
Can anyone tell me if there's any space underneath a sport trac frame? Or where to find frame drawings or pic's from underbody?
Also would it be possible to order a new truck without these ugly lash downs on the bed side? Reckon there'll be holes in it when taking them off afterwards

Welcome to this forum! I think you should discuss these options with a Ford dealer before having it shipped. These modifications might void the warranty.

Sure, but I'd modify it here in the Netherlands and would probably have no warranty anyway. But the $ is so interesting at the moment that I'd take that risk.

Welcome.

First, what year Sport Trac are you referring to? Since you're in the 2001-2005 forum, I would assume you're referring to one of those years. I can tell you that while there is some room beneath the truck, there isn't a whole lot of room (anything much beyond 30cm would probably hang down too low if you went off-road at all, as the tanks are really deep - just wide and long). The spare tire well, on the other hand, would give quite a bit of room once the exhaust was moved (and even before then).

You also mention ordering a new (2007+) model Sport Trac, to which I can offer no first hand experience beyond there seeming to be less room under the truck just from general appearance, plus the fact that the independent rear suspension also eats up a fair amount of room, so who knows how the gas tank is shaped on those; not to mention the shape of the spare tire well.

On the propane conversion, I can't help as I've never done it nor even researched it. I wish you the best of luck on that.

You might try using the search function to locate some pictures, that is if there are any. Once again, best of luck :salute: .

Tom
