Spring Compressors?

I am getting a 2'' SkyJacker sus. lift. I am going to install it with my freidns, and i was wondering if i need a spring compressor to take off the springs. Are there any other ways to take them off without using a compressor? Thanks

I did not use a compressor for mine. With the frame supported and a jack under the axle, remove the shock and sway bar bolt. Remove the caliper. Loosen the radius arm nut. Take off the nut on the bottom of the spring. Then let the jack down. You might have to turn the spring a little to get it out of the top.
