Somehow my wife managed to dislodge the O/D Off button that covers the actual switch inside the gear shift lever. I popped it back into place, but 2 days later I found a spring on the floor that looks like it could be part of the button.

Before I try prying the button back off, is there anybody who's taken this button apart and knows whether there's supposed to be a spring inside it? Right now it feels springy when I activate the button, probably from the internal button in the switch. I have the service manual but can't find anything about this switch.

Mine popped off one day when I pressed it and tehre is indeed a spring under there. To get the button off I just hold the button in and twist about a 1/4 turn left and it pops off, and theres a perfect spot to sit a spring. Let me know if it works.
