Runs good any other time with A/c on but when towing my Trailer with 2 ATV's on it I get a sputtering. Could this just be a loose Serpentine belt?
I would guess the trailer and 2 ATV's weight about 1700 Pounds.

I am assuming the engine is sputtering and not the ac. Have you tried turning the ac off? Does the belt look lose, have cracks in it, wearing thin, glazed look to it? Can you push down on the belt more than a 1/2"? Any noise coming from it?

I actually would put the belt low on my causes list and high on the symptoms list. Maybe a throttle body or a IAC issue not being able to keep up with the load. Could be a partial vacuum leak. Or even the OD is off. The belt turns based on the engine, maybe check all of the wheels on the serp belt path. How your voltage doing?

But heck I am just guessing here!

Good luck

I just thought about it last night and haven't looked at it yet. It did quit when I turned off the A/c and I left it off when I found out it did stop doing that. I will check it out today and see if I can find a Vacuum leak and look at the belt. Pretty sure the belt is fairly new.

Your sputtering under load, its got nothing to do with the a/c.
The a/c and your trailer with 2 atv's is the load making the issue visible.
When was the last time the plugs were changed?

New Plugs and Wires with in the last 6 months.

Maybe you can just feel the air con cycling because of the load?

That could be but it would mean it is cycling a lot.

Just checked the belt and what I could of the Vacuum lines and didn't see anything wrong there. The cover that covers most of the engine must have the vacuum lines under it. Like I said before the car runs fine even in passing gear without the Trailer behind it. Even with the a/c on.
