First of all its not loss, I m not that retarded, but I recently took my sport off road and went though some mud so obviously some muddy water got into the pulleys, but I put WD-40 on the pulleys and it stops for a little while, the comes back and really gets loud at around 2800 rpms, should I change the belt and pulleys or what? thanks guys!

The belt shouldn't squeek, but hey, stuff happens. At the counter by Autozone there is a packet of belt dressing for $.99 that works well I'm told. If your spraying WD40 on the pulley instead of the shaft, I think you may be making the problem worse, perhaps I misunderstand.

If it's not the belt but one of the pulleys, it needs to be addressed. Pull the belt off and turn each pulley by hand they should move easily and smoothly. Common failures are the tensioner followed by alternator, A/C Compressor clutch and othe other accessories. Squeeking pulleys are warning signs of potential failures. Seized accessories can snap the belt and wrap around other accessories.

There are other reasons for squeeks under the hood. Provide feedback if the problem isn't solved.

Belt dresser should not be used on serpentine belts as it traps dirt in the grooves in the pulley. If it is the pulley bearing, it is easy to change. A new pulley, around $20. Bearing, around $8. You can drive the old bearing out and press a new on in. If It is a metal pulley, just heat pulley with a propane torch and it makes it easier. I've done it with and without heating and had no problem.

More than likely your noise is coming from either the idler pulley or the tensioner. They are relatively inexpensive and easy to replace.

Good luck.

Yeh I changed the idler pulley and the belt and the squeeking stopped, thanks guys!
