Sqeeky noise from brake pedal

I have started to get a weired sound from my brake pedal. It is a sqeeky sound like something is binded up. Still have no problem stoping, but not sure if what ever is wrong can be a bigger problem soon. Was told it could be my booster, but not sure if that is right or not. My explorer has 180K miles so not sure if this is a common problem with them or not. The brakes are a little soft,but still stop if you mash it to the floor, it then makes that noise ans I can fell the pedal go a little more forward towards the firewall. Any help or info. Would be a huge help, don't wanna have my brakes go out on me. I do a lot of hwy driving to and from work everyday.

When was the last time you did any repairs or maintenance on your brakes?

I bought it used so there is no telling. May pull the wheels off saturday and look them over. The pads may be getting close to needing replaced and also some fresh brake fliud wouldn't hurt. Just wasn't sure if it was something more serious. It may not be so much a sqeeky sound. Hard to discribe what it sounds like. Almost like air being pushed out of something.
