Hey guys (and gals),

I have been noticing lately my 02 sport trac squeaks everytime i drive it. Even just sitting in it or getting out of it the drivers side (rear?) just is obnoxious. I don't know what is common for this leaf spring suspension because this is my first truck and vehicle for that matter with leaf springs. Is it the shackles causing this noise or something else?

Any help would be appreciated!

Start by checking the rear sway bar frame bushings. Suspension squeaks are almost always caused by dry or worn
bushings contacting metal. Spray individual bushings with lubricant to troubleshoot followed by greasing or replacing.

Another common failure are deteriorating body mounts, especially the foam bushings under the firewall and "B" pillars.
