2001 Ford Sportrac
Am hoping for some experienced advice- 2001 Sportrac 167K Miles am original owner. Only used 4wd winters for plowing small driveway not heavy user.

Recently, even the smallest turns on pavement even at 10 MPH tires squeal as if I am peeling out intentionally but I am not. Tires are not new but not bald either about 80% tread.

Not even a turn just a slight bend or curve causes squeal as if it is somehow in 4WD without "being in 4wd" mode? Trying my best to explain it?

Any ideas what may be causing this?

Brand new shocks front and back and new tie-rod (in & out) in front as well has new brakes and rotor in front. Squealing was happening before any of this was done so...not sure how or what is cause?

Feedback appreciated.

have you had your alignment checked?

Alignment is scheduled for Friday...hopefully that will resolve problem.

Definately sound like an alignment or Camber issue to me, the front wheel is has too much toe in or toe out camber, basically the wheel is not at a 90 degree angle to the road surface. How are the tires wearing?

Welcome to the site.

Haven't noticed any unusual wear on tires (to be fair I put less than 5K miles on truck last year) but decided if having alignment done might as well replade with set of tires too. Son will be using truck for college.

Hey..was just called back by auto shop I am taking truck to for alignment--guy said I need some kind of "eccentric kit" in order to do the alignment--kit is like $100 then he quoted me another $200 to complete alignment.
1) too steep a price for what i thought should be a simpler FE alignment
2) Is this guy for real? 2001 Sportrac 4WD 4L engine....does this model need this kit???

Thank you--great site!

200 bucks seems pretty average i guess. at first i thought he quoted you 200 just to align it. but now i understand that you got the cam kit installed too lol.
