I have a squeeking noise coming from somewhere underneath my truck. It varies with speed not engine rpm's. The noise eventually disappears but seems to return when the vehicle is cold. It's not my u-joints. I've read before in the forum about squeeking coming from the front wheels or hubs and simply lubricating whatever this was. I did a search but did not find what I was looking for. Does anyone recall seeing this or have any ideas. Thanks.

The X has developed a squeak too, but it happens when I rock it back and forth so it's in the shocks. Guess I used them a little too much :D ;)

It's probably because the dust seal on your hub assemblies has failed. Do a search for dust seals and you will get alot of information. Ford has also issued a TSB on them.
