I have a 91 XLT, all of the sudden it started idling irratically and it stalls as soon as I start it. It will only stay running if I give it gas. After so long of giving it gas, I can keep it running by slowly leaving off the accelerator. But it idles up and down. The battery gauge reads up and down also. I had the battery and the alternator tested. They said the battery is good but the alternator is testing at over 15. They said something is pulling hard on the alternator. I have no clue what is wrong with it. The check engine light doesn't come on and they tried to get a code out of it anyways and got nothing.
