Starter needs to be replaced?

We just got back from a week long vacation. Car ran fine. Then we went to my uncle's for the fourth. No problems again. Then yesterday morning I tried the remote start and I can hear it go to acc. and then when it tried to start all I hear is loud real fast ticking from under the hood and inside the car. So I go in the car and tried it with the key but the same thing. Just real loud ticking. As if it is cranking through a box or electronic device but the actual starter doesn't turn over? Any help would be appreciated.

After reading the sticky I am assuming it is the solinoid/starter? Does anyone have any pics or diagrams as to where the starter solinoid is located?

I would like to place this in an area that might actually be read by people other than 02-05 explorers. I dont' appreciate it being moved to an area that will not receive any attention.
