HEY i need a new starter. just wondering what you guys paid for a new one. and where

Figure on about $100-125. All auto places have them, so you can shop around.
 






$130 for mine 3 days ago installed. they were done in 20 minutes. local batt. alt. and starter place. i used them before for an alt. and i liked the way i was treated. usually the treat teens like crap in those places. sorry had to vent a little.
 






holy crap!!! i was thinking like $60 at the most, iam gonna install it myself. you guys sure like if i go buy it at schucks or napa
 






Yes, those are accurate prices......

There's something 'special' about the starters used on these motors....something called a Permanent Magnet Gear Reduction......drives up the cost a bit.....this isn't a Small Block Chevy.....parts aren't always cheap. But they do seem to last as long as the price warrants. You get what you pay for.

mine was 250.00 in canada....good warranty though( country wide)
