Well, I think that I have found the problem. Looks like it is the starter itself.
Took it off once again and bench tested it. The solenoid worked perfectly and while the shaft extended as it should, the shaft didnt turn. Took the motor apart and found that 2 of the 4 brushes were completely worn. I have tried to add a pic but I am not that smart today I guess. Anyways, have to call my parts place to see if I can get the brushes or have to get the whole assembly.
