I have a 2004 V6 Explorer that sometimes cranks over but will not start. If I wait 10 to 15 miniutes it may then start and run rough for awhile like it was flooded. I have noticed that it will sometimes whisle when accelerating and it sounds like there is a rumble noise up front. It sounds like the 4 wheel drive is engaged and the gas milage is poor.

Any ideas what this could be?

Welcome to this forum! Check the idle air control solenoid, mass air flow sensor, fuel pressure regulator, and the engine coolant temperature sensor. Do you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key, and it won't start?
