My son's '97 4.0 ohv 4wd X w/145k failed to start yesterday. It would crank but not start. He waited a couple of hours and tried again and it fired right up. Today he got up early and drove 150 miles back to town. Later in the day, it stalled while idling at a light and wouldn't restart. We towed it to an indy shop where it started right and ran for hours. (I don't know if it threw any codes.) Now the indy thinks the problem is a crankshaft sensor.
