I agree, we checked out these forums prior to purchasing, and figured out that MFT woudl take some time, and actually, took a vehicle for a 1/2 day test drive to make sure that we really liked it. The dealer actually encouraged us to take the longer test drive then the standard 15 minute aroudn the block on an empty tank of gas test ride.

I imagine form many new owners the first time they touched MFT and interacted with Synch was when they got their vehicle. We were fortunate in that we had at least 1/2 a day with it to kind of understand it, and understand the overall vechicle, and its inherent good points and not so good points, which their are only a few in my opinion, and most are but little mice nut complaints.

I decided not to pay for the navigation portion of the sync and mft system. So the NAV problems won't be a concern to me. I test drove an Edge with MFT and an Ex with MFT and it didn't jump out to me as super annoying or anything. Is it possible some of the gripes with MFT are more user error related, or just drivers not informed on how to use it?

No. I didn't get NAV either, so that's not a concern to me. My issues are all things that work sometimes ( or at least worked at some point) and the mysteriously don't work anymore? Why does my album art disappear after displaying for two days? Why does Bluetooth audio streaming work 3 times in a row, then not work the next two times, then suddenly work again? Why did my phonebook download the first two times I paired my iPhone, but now won't download at all? Why can I say "browse artist Green Day" and it'll browse artist green day, then 20 minutes later I say "browse artist Green Day" and it says, I'm sorry, please say a command" over and over?

I'm comfortable with tech. I'm a network engineer. This isn't a case of me not understanding how to use gadgets.
 






I love my new Exploder limited - almost 3 months of ownership. Drives excellent, is comfortable, and I feel very safe in it.

MFT is probably the only downside when it doesn't work well, which happens rarely. When it works it is awesome. But I remain hopeful that most issues will eventually be corrected with a future software upgrade. My motivation to purchase the vehicle didn't consider MFT high on the list. So to me it is not a big disappointment.
 






I love my Explorer and I'm sure you will feel the same about yours when it arrives. They aren't like anything else out there.
I haven't had a single issue and look forward to driving it each day I'm not driving my Mustang GT!
