my 2000EB has started binding real bad in tight, low-speed turns. This problem started, while I was deployed, to my wife then went away & now is back again, so I think it's related to a sensor going bad. It seems to happen after I've been off-road with the car in 4x4, & now it's not fixing itself. I did a little research & saw a lot of 02 owners describing my exact problem saying their 4x4 control modules had gone bad. I can't find any documentation that my 00 has a 4x4 cm though, or where it would be. Can anyone help? Thanks!

yours is different than an 02,, the 4x4 is controlled by the GEM in the dash right behind the radio,,
could be the binding is it is not releasing out of 4x4 , but that might not be the GEM, mine does it every now and again too after using the 4x4 , especially when it is cold out,,
