04 with the steering wheel radio controls.

Left side cruise, the - to decrease set speed doesn't work.

Radio side, the mem button doesn't work to go from preset to preset. Doesn't do anything.

Would think a good clock spring is a good clock spring. Or do these work via remote signal?

Anyone have this issue?

What's the fix?

Ideas before I tear into it?

Thank you..

Hmm. Hate to replace the buttons & still have the issue.

Not 100% sure, but I think there are only 2 or 3 wires controlling the entire steering wheel control panel. It works by resistance. Different buttons creates different resistance going to the wires. So if it was a broken wire, they would all be bad. Most likely the switch panel is bad.

Okay, thanks for that.

It's just the bottom two buttons one on each side

Rest are fine..... weird

Thank you firefly. Try to clean then check resis, and likely have to replace.

Wanting to put in an aftermarket double din stereo receiver, need to make sure all of my steering controls work first so I can pinpoint any issue I have setting the steering controls to the new deck.

Thank you !

Mem control now spontaneously working intermittently.

Cruise speed reduction still nothing.

Thinking dirty.

Haven't had time to pull apart yet but will update.
