I just installed a new factory radio to replace my pioneer 6 cd unit. Everything hooked up fine but I lost the use of the rear console and headphone jacks. Does anyone know if I am able to get their function back ? This is in a 2001 Sport Trac

From what year ST did you get the radio? Unfortunately year matters, even though radios look the same.

Okay, now I really feel dumb..................I am new at this and just realized that I said "factory radio" when I meant "after market"......I actually only want to be able to use the headphone jack out in the center console. Any ideas ?

If your new head unit has a full range preamp out, you "might" be able to run that into the headphone jack. I'm not sure how these were wired so it might not be possible without replacing the jack with a standard one. You might also have to run it through a headphone amp so there is enough power to run the headphones. You might also need a fixed output volume if you want to mute the rest of the car, not sure if they even make radios that will do that. I guess it depends on how serious you are about getting it to work. I don't know if any of this will work, just throwing out some ideas. :dunno:

I thought something along those lines may be possible. I will get into the console and begin troubleshooting as soon as I can. Thanks
