stereo works fine, but no sound

i just bought a 91. its in pretty good mechanical shape, but the stereo sound is not working. the stereo seems to be working fine otherwise...ie changing stations and seek and stuff.
any help is appreciated.

Stock stereo??

If so see if you even have speakers installed, maybe the previous owner had an aftermartket stereo and put the old stereo back in and kept his speakers.

If you have speakers, make sure they are plugged in

If they are plugged in, then check to see if the speaker wire connector is plugged in on the back of the radio... see first note....
