94' Eddie Bauer Explorer
There I was on the Ford Website. Looking at the new Explorers and I saw the "Build Your Own" section. I bought my EB Explorer in 1994 at the MSRP of $27K. I went into Sticker Shock when I saw that a New EB Explorer with the same options costs $36K.

That's in Thirty Six T-H-O-U-S-A-N-D Dollars. Are you guys buying the new Explorer and then Off-Roading them too? The way it's going, I'll drive my '94 until the wheels rot off.

What do you guys with the older Explorers think of these new prices?

Crazy!! For that price, my next ride will be a F150 Super Crew 4x4. Same price, same seating space, and you get a box on the back, V8. Test drove one this weekend, loved it.

Almost a $10000 increase! I don't think the cost of living has gone up that much has it, why do the cars? Here's what I would do: go buy a '94 EB now for $6000 and spend $15000 worth in mods:):):):):) But that's just me.

Matt

yeah thats only 21000 you still have another 15 to get yourself a commute car or a phat motorcycle :)

I'm telling ya', it's really sickening that, as IAMCDN stated above, the F150 SuperCab 4x4 is LESS money, is bigger, has a bigger engine, same gas mileage, same 4 door seating, and most importantly, is a real truck.

Even though the 94' EB was MSRP'ed at 27K, I paid 22K. I still get queasy taking the truck on the beach. (but I do :))

I don't lease my vehicles. 30K+ is alot of money to spend on something that can get damaged offroading. I'm so glad I bought one when I did.

buy a 1996 ford explorer for 10gs, and put 26k of mods into it, that would be one SWEET truck lemme tell ya that

Or get a brand new 2000 XLT, if your local Ford dealer still have them. They are willing to take a big loss to get these off their lots. We got ours for $12.5k off MSRP. You may even get a good deal with the 2001s also.

Drive it stock and modify it after the warranty ends. Lifts and lockers are available for these.
