Well it's been in the shop for a month, how hard is it to put a tranny in any ways. Two months ago it was in the shop for the same thing they put a rebuilt tranny in and it went out so I take it back and they can't figure out whats wrong so they put another tranny in,and that one dosen't work so then they say we're going to put a new tranny in and they can't do that right.I call them and ask what the hell and they say that it's electrical Performance Automotive and Transmissiom my ass!!!!! Sorry I'm just dying here I don't have another car.

Call them back and DEMAND a rental. When $$$ start to come out of THEIR pockets the work tends to speed up accordingly...

Solutions and Understandings

approx 75k my tranny went out in my 91 xlt 4dr 4x4. luckily i only had owned the vehicle a month and the 2000 dollar ford dealership repair was covered under the used car warrany. however, not only was the transmission toast, the torque converter also had failed, so they overhauled the tranny and replaced the torque converter. this is not guaranteed to solve your problem, but a suggestion.

another interesting story, before i moved to school i delivered parts for a chrysler dealer. i delivered a transmission, weeks later another transmission and picked up the old as warranty, then deliver another transmission a few weeks later picking up the replacement as a warranty! sometimes this happens, never did find out if something else was causing it, but the 3rd transmission seemed to last. every once in a while stuff like this happens and there is no excuse for it, however it is very tiresome. i personally do not care for independent, or national chain transmission shops, rather a dealership overhaul, or doing the job myself.

maybe these tidbits can help send you, or the shop in the right direction.

Thanx I guess I shouldn't be so mad, after all it does have 197000 miles on it.

IT'S BACK FROM THE SHOP!!!!!!!!! 7 WEEKS CAN YOU SAY WITHDRAWL!!!!

And it's back in!!!!!!!

Oh man.... not even 24 hours! That sucks the big one. I truly hope it's only a minor problem that needs correcting.

Maybe the fact that you've gone through 3 trannies indicates that your problem is not the tranny... I question the troubleshooting skills of your shop.

I got it out from the shop and now they say it's the oxygen sensor,I had takeen it back bcause it was stalling and the shifting was sticking a little but now I'll just figure it out on my own.The tranny isn't that bad but the stalling is really pissing me off.
