Ok, so I had the anti-theft get stuck about 5 months ago, my mechanic didn't know what was wrong , changed the fuel pump and ignition switch, finally gave up, and I had it towed to Ford. It wasn't a bad key or anything like that, they put a new computer. So I get it out and it starts fine but I notice a slight vibration when in Drive and stopped while just idling. Well it got worse, my buddy says it's my engine mounts because one side was raising slightly when revving. So I change the engine mounts and the tranny mount as it looked bad too. Still vibrating, I look over the car and find some bad hoses, so I just got done changing the upper intake and lower intake gaskets, changed the bad vacuum hoses, cleaned the MAF, AIC, and EGR, new spark plug wires, put it back together and still vibrates, runs better and definitely wants to take off when I let my foot off the brake, but nevertheless.
So ????? Did I not tighten the engine mounts enough? I used a cheater bar. How much are you supposed to torque them ?? I feel a vibration in the steering wheel and it resonates throughout the car. I almost wanna say bad manifold gasket, but don't know what to expect from that in a newer car. It drives very well, it's really only when in Drive and stopped. Anyone have any other ideas ??
