Technical question. My 1999 V6 Explorer has an issue with surprise surprise the gearbox. Only appears to have 4th and 5th gear. I have put a brand new valve body in and it's still the same. Anyone got any ideas what the problem maybe? Please don't ask what does it do, does overdrive work etc, just looking for personal experiences or what is actually wrong with it. Everything works as it should except 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear, been at this for nearly a year now and just about ready to give up on it. New gearbox isn't an option (UK) parts are very hard to get hold of over here too which doesn't help.
