Hi
i have a 92 4x4 door XLT, it has pulled hard to the right ever since i have had it,, had it aligned and it made a difference, but still is pulling, it now seems to be worse, and is also pulling Left when braking,, and the harder you brake the more it pulls left,, but as soon as you let of the brake right back to pulling right.
Radus arm bushing?,, im changing them tomorrow,, what about the beam bushings? would that cause this? any ideas?
Thanx !
Isaac:eek:

It sounds like you definatley have a bad set of radius arm bushings. :frustrate

Mine does the exact same thing. Right when you lrt go of the wheel, and left when braking. However my radius arm bushings are about a month old.

Have you looked at the brake calipers and make sure they are not sticking...........maybe a brake related problem?

Update on the radus arms bushings,,

No,, it's not a brake problem, i have gone over the rear brakes and all is in good working order, the front brakes i have done myself as well, which incluced all new components , roters, pads, wheel bearings,, ect.
everything is good to go in the brake system.

now for the update on the bushings,
The Explorer right now is on ramps in my driveway, i ran out of day light and it's freezing out there anyway, but anyway here's what i climbed under to find ,,
one of the prevouse owners of this rig had already replaced the bushings at some point, and when they did it they grinded out all rivets and put very heavy grade hardware in and did it Right!, they also on the two bolts going up through the framerails from the bottum part, they added duel nut holders, which you dont have to hold the other side or "the nut jig" to take everything apart.
i was very glad to see this kind of work already done to the rig, as i was plaining to take the whole front end apart.
the bushings,, the passengers side is totaly gone, worn so bad the the bushing actuly "Split"
the other side not far behind.
im putting everything back together tomorrow, ill let you all know how it goes. Thanx for you help guys!
Isaac
