Turning over and no start could be a fuel delivery issue, e.g. dead fuel pump. An engine needs just three things to run: 1) air 2) fuel 3) spark. Find the missing link and there's your problem.

Funny you should mention those three things. I remember a big argument on a fishing forum about that. A guy who claimed he was an ASE certified mechanic and instructor said they always taught it as Fuel, Spark and Compression. Not saying anything you stated was incorrect or misleading, just reminded me of all the people who got bent out of shape over it. The moderators were pretty busy for a couple days.

Yeah i had the same thought, how hard is it for them to undo a fuel line and try then find out if gas is coming out then if the spark plugs are getting spark then same for air, stealerships suck

You do need compression, but compression is a by product.

As a general rule, it's fuel, spark, and air. Air to breathe, and spark to ignite the fuel.

The fact they've had it for 2 days tells me they really haven't looked at it. You shoulda had it towed to the nearest AAA facility, not the stealership.

well the parents r the ones who chose, i would have taken it home and gone step by step if i had my choice

I was gonna be a smartass and say how do you get compression without air :D Not really something worth arguing over though, it's still the same three ingredients.

I'd agree that it being there a couple days means they probably haven't looked at all yet. My experience with shops and lazy mechanics is that if it takes more than a couple days to even diagnose the problem, then they haven't looked at all. Chances are they will also charge out the ass when they do get to it, lazy mechanics also seem to be overly proud of their work.
