Stock amp question

If my explorer (98 sport) has amp only and no sub can I install the sub and box combo from another 98 ? Will it plug right up or are the connectors different ? Thanks in advance

As far as I know if it has an amp it has a sub. But I could be wrong. The way to test if it has an amp. Take the radio out, put speaker wire leads into the harness. Then take a 9 volt battery and touch the speaker leads to the battery. If the speakers pop with the car off there is no amp.

In my 96 with no stock sub, there is no stock plug for it in the back panel area.
