I just scored a set of Infiniti I30 black leather seats on eBay for $198 shipped. I thought it was an awesome deal.

Anyway, my ugly, dated, uncomfortable stock cloth seats are coming out and these are going in. I plan to use the stock Explorer power seat tracks and mate them with the Infiniti seats. I'm going to to do this by making some brackets out of 1/8" steel (at least that's my plan). Hopefully, wiring the Infiniti switches to the Explorer power seat tracks won't be difficult.

I'm going to be posting pics of the process in this thread, because it might be useful if others want to try to fit non-Explorer seats in their truck.

I should receive the seats in the middle of next week, and I will get started.

what are you doing with the back seats? Do you think the seat belt will plug in? I hope they are not too short as in height wise. Good luck!

Subscribe.

That will be sick if it works out ok. Best of luck :D

I'm leaving the back seats as-is for right now. In the future, I will pick up two more of these and do rear buckets, but it's not a neccessity right now.

Not sure if the seat belt will plug in. If it doesn't, then I'll just find a way to swap over the Explorer seat belt accepter.

I shouldn't have a problem with height, considering they are being mounted on Explorer seat tracks. If I do need to make height adjustments, I'll make the brackets to compensate for it.

The seatbelt piece isnt part of the seat. It's bolted to the tracks in 2 spots and runs in a slider so it moves back and forth when you adjust your seat. You will have to remove the infinity ones.

If it's attached to the seat tracks, then I can just use the Explorer ones since I'm using the Explorer seat tracks.

awesome. i know you were sick of those 1987 cloth seats. :D

For sure!

yeah, those will look great.

Read above!

Bucket seats in the rear are going to be awesome. You could even do an extension of the center console in between the rear seats. Or you could leave it without a console and get easy access to the rear cargo area. Talk about custom interior. :)

Sweet !! Deffinitely post pics of the process ....

Well the seats arrived at my house today. They are in a lot better shape than I expected, which is good news. The bad news is, they are FULL of wiring! This is mostly because they have side and headrest airbags, which I plan on AVOIDING! Tomorrow I will dig into them and find the wires that control the seat movement, and hopefully I tap into the right wires or else the airbags will go boom boom!

I'll have progress pics when I get started.

You should go to one of the Nissan boards and ask for a wiring diagram for your seats, if they have it. I really don't want you to deploy the airbags because the seats are sooooo nice!! Good luck and keep us posted with pics!!

That's a good idea. Thanks.

I started tearing into the seats today. I'm starting with the passenger side seat so I can still drive my truck. I got the pass. infiniti seat all stripped down to the frame, which made figuring out the wiring MUCH easier. I got everything sorted out, so the electrical work doesn't look that intimidating anymore. Both of the control connectors on both seats have 6 wires, so it should be easy to hook them up (just gotta figure out the colors). I had to cut off a lot of unnecessary brackets on the infiniti seats that were getting in the way.

I also got the metal for making the brackets. Mating the explorer seat tracks with the infiniti seats seems pretty cut and dry.

Tomorrow, after football, I will begin to make the brackets, and I anticipate having the tracks mounted.
