Hi all,

I want to upgrade my stock, non JBL, factory cassette radio. It is getting finicky and does not pick up half the stations I know are out there. As this is not a daily driver, I do not want to break the bank, but would love a decent radio with bluetooth and maybe the ability to insert a micro SD card or USB.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

I recommend going to Crutchfield's website. I bought my radio from them and their support helped me install my first radio - even going as far as sending me parts for free when the recommendations didn't work the first time.

Ford went with a 1.5 din radio size so you'll need to do some shaving in order to get a double din radio in (I'm unsure of whether a single din requires this because I have not installed one). This isn't as big of a deal as it sounds, because you can't actually see the work as long as you haven't botched it up.

If you choose to go with a double din installation and need a dash kit, my personal choice is this one over the kit Crutchfield provided because it brings the radio closer to the driver rather than sinking it in the dash.

JVC digital from Crutchfield, single din adapter w storage cubby. Bombproof and featured.

If you are looking for better FM reception, look for lower dbf numbers in the FM Sensitivity rating. 8 through 12 are considered good.

It's been a long time since I have bought a head unit, but original OEM head units always had better FM reception back then.
