Hey guys,
Going to try a 2" body lift on my 1992 2wd. I've researched and found most of the info I need to do this. But I couldn't find anything about using stock shocks. I have Monroe Reflex's on the front and was hoping I could still use them. Going to get Reflexes for the rear, but want to know if I need to go with something else with the lift. Also, are 31's appropriate for this lift? This truck will be on-road only.
Thanks!
John

Diregard...I pulled my head out of my butt.

Since you are using a BL then stock shocks should do just fine. I would think 31's would look good and should fit nicley under there with that amount of lift. Hope that helps.

Happy trails!!

Thanks JOT.
After reading my post again, I realized the shocks wouldn't be affected with a BL. But thanks for the reply. I'll go with the 31's but need to research for a good on-road tire.
Thanks again.

Any time buddy, be sure and get some pictures to let us know how it looks, good luck.

Happy trails!!

Thanks. Will do. Hopefully it'll be out of the paintshop next week. I'm going to try to put the lift on since I already have the bumpers off. I'll have to keep the stock wheels on it until I buy the tires. I'm thinking of going with the black spoked rims with 31's. Looking for the best package deal now.
Again thanks for the help.

You shouldn't need new shocks at all since it is a BL...I do have two questions about a Tahoe though...My friend has a 99 4dr 4x4 Tahoe we are going to put a 3" BL and a TT in front along w/ 33x12.50 15..We went to 4wheel parts and some guy there was saying if he put on a BL he wouldn't be able to put a suspension lift on later which sounds like BS (he was going to put a 4" rancho on later)...I think you can...also all Chevys I see Body lifted have the bumper spacer plastic part that covers the gap from the bumper to the body..Does anyone know of bumper brackets for the rear or can they be fabbed or is there some reason that the rear bumpers can't go up anymore?? thanks

it is a liability thing. You can do it, they just dont want you to sue them or anything if you flip it b/c it is much higher. My dad as a suburban which he just put 285 or 295/75/16 (I think it is 285). which are about 33x11or 11.5 and they fit with no rubbing stock. He doesnt offroad with it but it still has a pretty good amount of room. That was just so you know, you might be able to fit more tire under there safely w/ that BL and wheels with more a lower backspacing b/c he is on stock wheels. Becareful about the 15" wheels. The 15" on the suburban dont fit b/c of the brakes with most wheel models.
