i went through 2 of them before i went aftermarket... no big deal.. the dealership should have lots in stock =)

ask around here someone may have one for u...or u can ask expo5.0 if his group buy is still going..that should be a good deal for the sub

i went to a car audio store and they said that you can't just put a different 8inch sub in the back, becuase the system is desgined to work with itself or something, and no aftermarket parts...he said to do dual subs in the back with an amp, would cost 500 bucks...i went to the ford dealer and they want 460 just for the sub...WTF what am i gonna do?!??! i dont want to spend anymore than like 100

yeah i got one also you can PM me if he fall through

what stock sub am i hearing so much about? I have a 95 XLT 4 door and i only see 4 speakers the ones on the doors. Do i have a sub or am i confused? Thanks a lot.

The sub is for the ones with the JBL system. The sub is located at the cubby hole in your cargo area. If you have that little storage compartment, then you don't have the upgraded system.

the stock sub costs a lot because IT IS FROM THE DEALER. hell, BOLTS cost $8 from a dealer.

Odds are you can find MANY people selling stock sub woofers. I know I sold mine not too long ago. I think I asked for $20 for it. You could have also blown the amp for it. If you need a new stock sub amp, let me know I'll give it to you for $15.

To get at it, use a size 50 torx(sears or home depot have them) socket to take off the rear passenger side seat belt (the top part). Then use a socket (7mm or something) to take out the hanger hook above the door. Then just start near the cargo door and pull. Everything will snap out. There might be a few screws at the base of the big plastic panel where it meets the carpet (pull the carpet back a tiny bit and look along the end of the plastic panel). You'll also have to slightly pull up the plastic piece on the floor near the door so that the panel will come all the way out. IT IS SIMPLE - dont waste $$ having someone else do it.

If you know how to undo screws and plug a few wires in, you should be able to fix your problem for < $30. If you spend more then that, I will come to NY and slap you =P... unless you upgrade your system.

Any Q's you can pm me if ya want.

Edit: Incase it isn't obvious to you... fold down the seat before you try and take the panel out....

thanks for all the offers but wal-mart here is having a big clearance oin audio stuff so i bought 2 pioneer 10" subs for 50 bucks, and im just gonna put those in...but thanks again!

uhm.. you need an amp to power them (stock amp wont be able to do it) and a head unit to connect it to..... You might be able to connect it to the stock head unit... not sure.

you also need an enclosure for the subs....

yeh i know, i'm buying an amp tommorow and we built an enclosure tonight out of MDF board...

we are wiring it up to the stock head unit and 6 disc changer

did you just use the same signal lines that went to the stock amp?

Hello, I'm new to the site, but i also blew out my sub. I went to wal-mart and bought a cheap 8 in sub for like 20 bucks. I had to redrill holes in the factory box to make it fit. I know that a after market sub is made to work with much higher levels of watts, but this cheap one works fine if not better. Sorry i forget the brand of it.
