I have a Limited with CD changer and I'm wondering what are all the componets to this system. I believe that I have 4 door speakers and a sub in the rear.

Does this system have external amps and if so where and what are they? Also, can I up grade these amps without replacing the head unit?

Is that a sub in the very rear or just another speaker? Does it have it's own power source?

I want to upgrade the speakers and amps but leave the head unit as I like the way it functions and looks. I also have the rear controls...

Thanks,

Jim

The amp for the system in built into the headunit itself. The sub in the rear is an actual sub and it has it's own dedicated amp back there with it.

What you could do is replace the door speakers with aftermarket and get an external amp to power them. Then, you could take out the stock sub and get a Q-Logic custom box, JL Audio Stealthbox, or MTX Thunderform for that location. With the Q-Logic and JL boxes you can put any sub you want in. The MTX model comes with a built in amp or you can opt for it to come without the amp in it. IMO the MTX costs way too much. I got a JL Audio Vantage box and put an Image Dynamics sub in it and powered it with a JBL amp. It sounds so much better and has more power than the MTX and the best thing is it didn't cost as much as the MTX or JL Stealthbox w/ 10w1.

Here is my setup. Obviously the amp can be put whereever, I just opted for this position. The sub and amp type are in my signature.

That is a really nice looking setup. What size is that sub?

Thanks for the info.

The sub is a 10".
