The door ajar and beeping can be heard in my sleep by the neighbors. Please help. I think it was to do with the lift gate window? 2002 Ex.

This is a known problem with older explorers, usually attributed to broken wires in the door wire loom or a bad door switch.

A quick search of “door ajar” pulled up quite a few threads, have a look here:

From quickly skimming that thread, it’s doubtful that this is the lift gate window.

Spray the inside of both the latches with wd40 lots of it
Then work them to free up the door ajar switch
It may take some time

Most likely have to spray it a few times
